The recent flood and earthquake activity in Oklahoma has been a topic of conversation among families, friends, and business partners. It has raised numerous questions regarding insurance coverage. During the past year, The Oklahoma Geological Survey has reported 1,047 earthquakes in our state.
This is a dramatic increase in flood and earthquake activity. For the period 1972 through 2008, the Oklahoma Geological Survey detected two to six earthquakes a year. This dramatic increase in activity warrants further review of your coverage. We have previously mailed letters regarding both flood and earthquake coverages being added to your property policies, but with the recent activity we wanted to again address the subject.
We would like to remind you that even though most insurance policies exclude both flood and earthquake perils, the coverage is affordable and can be added to most property policies.
Please call us if you would like to review your policies to determine whether these perils are included. If not, we will be happy to provide you a premium indication within 7-10 business days. Should you have questions or if we can be of further assistance, please call us.
